About Us
Hi, my name is Troy and I am the Chief Technology Officer for Arizona’s Calibration Centers!
At Arizona Calibration Centers, we are driven to provide calibrations for your ADAS vehicle at the utmost precision. With a combination of laser precise measuring systems, hyper-specialized environments, and the latest in diagnostic software, we can provide an OEM calibration to the exact spec required.
Gone are the days of “field calibrations,” where mobile techs can come out to any shop or customer’s home and calibrate the most important components that keep the driver safe behind the wheel.
Original Manufacture Specifications require level surfaces, even lighting, an ample amount of space around the vehicle, and so much more. The requirements are strict.
But are the “field” calibrators holding themselves up to those standards? No!
Time and time again, we see stories about cars not accurately gauging the distance of vehicles in front of them, not recognizing pedestrians when it should have, getting confused in traffic causing phantom braking, and so much more.
Many of the studies performed on these cases find something shocking but completely avoidable!
At SEMA 2021, Scott Kaboos, national assistant manager of collision repair training and technology for American Honda Motor Co., demonstrated the deadly effects of calibrating on a slope, rather than a level surface. You can read the results here.
This is a prime example of what happens when the OEM requirements are met loosely. And the cases only get worse from there…
That’s where I come in. As CTO, I promise to keep up with the technical demands of the ever-evolving automobile, and to ensure that when a collision repair is performed, that the computer and safety systems are all brought back to performing at their factory spec. I take great pride in knowing that the person getting into their car will be able to use their safety technologies to the fullest of their abilities.
Sincerely,
Troy Lucia
Chief Technology Officer
